Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Mixtel90 said  It took me some time, but I finally got Annex RDS onto a ESP32. :) I found the installation very confusing because the help file on the web page is remarkably unhelpful in that respect! I couldn't have installed it at all without help from this forum.

Also, I know there's an awful lot of info in the help file, but the font is very small for those of us with fairly small monitors and very old eyes. Is there a downloadable PDF that I could zoom?

It's very nice being able to program the beast from across the room using a web browser though. :) I like the RDE too, with the same proviso of very small fonts.

It's a very nice BASIC. :)

You can zoom directly in the web browser but, if you prefer, you can simply print the whole help in pdf format using the "print" icon

Definitely has lots of features thanks to great work by Cicciocb.
However, there are issues with bug maintenance and new releases. Its been few months since some bugs have been acknowledged but no fixes or new release updates.

Unfortunately, Cicciocb is a one man band with limited time and Annex basic has very limited licensing for personal hoby use only.
Very little activity on his forum in recent time.

Perhaps may be worth while considering relaxing licensing and making it open source?
Look at Arduino and Micropython.

I recognize that I don't have much time to dedicate to the project but, unfortunately, it is very difficult to find someone who can really help you.
I don't really see what would change if I change the license, the target is for private and hobby use. Opening the sources would not change anything, except to find Annex disguised under another name elsewhere

Hello,

where is the entry point for flashing a ESP32?

Can’t find the Weblink:

Annex RDS Firmware Update: On this website, you'll always find the latest version of the Annex firmware. You can download it with just a few clicks, or you can copy the link for a remote OTA (Over The Air) update of the module.

Annex RDS WEB installer: I've developed an intuitive web application that allows you to flash the module directly from your browser. No need to install additional software on your computer for firmware flashing anymore.

Hello,

how to : connect you esp32 to  your PC-USB port - open the  annex downloadsite / the webinstaller - click  "Connect"  and choose the right USB Port - Your device should be detected including RAM, then click  "HELP BUTTON" and follow the instructions mentioned there. after flashing - reset your device and you will got a  new accespoint in your wifi home network
If you dont need Bluetooth use a Firmware version without "BLE" in the name

have fun :)
