I'm thinking of buying a  ST7789 display. Is it faster than ili9341? I heard it has a wider viewing angle. Any other advantages? Cheers, stan.

I don't think there's much difference in speed between any of the SPI displays, other than that gained by not needing to update as many pixels on small ones.

If you want a fast LCD TFT then the one to get is the SSD1363 parallel display. They do tend to be a bit expensive now though, and they use a lot of GP pins.

If you do decide to get a ST7789 then make sure you get one with a CS pin as modifying the ones without is very fiddly. The control chip number has nothing to do with the viewing angle.

Finding st7789 with cs and miso/sdi seems the 320x240 with sd card and touch.
very fiddly and solder ribbon and cut tracks from google.

Sorry, yes. SSD1963. Brain-keyboard interface is faulty.

No idea if that will work, Stan. Not particularly cheap at 19 UKP when you don't know.
