I bought this little mini PC after watching the Explaining Computers video on it: Explaining Computers video... I no longer want it, as it won't run my chosen audio processing software.(Breakaway Audio Enhancer) Well, technically it DOES run Breakaway, but not natively and so the processing has to go via al alternate path, and that results in about 95% CPU use, and I can't have that. It is otherwise just fine, and works beautifully, but I NEED the audio processing engine to run as I planed to use it to run a small FM radio station. Therefore, keen to on-sell it, ideally to a NZ member, to save on freight. Cost me US$100, which is NZ$162 + some freight to get it too me(so about NZ$180 or so landed here), so I am asking for about NZ$120 including tracked courier to anyone in NZ. Comes in original box with PSU, mounting bracket and screws. See the video above for full description of details. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Yes, it is indeed a nice unit at a sweet price-point, but it just won't run my audio enhancement software. Good for anything else though! Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

I've never used Breakaway Audio Enhancer but I work with FL Studio, so i know that for real time audio enhancement youll need CPU/Thread Power. Maybe you can fix something with Asio Audio drivers (ASIO4ALL) but for your application, the celeron cpu looks a little undersized. 'no comment |

FYI the Beelink N95 minicomputer $159 at Amaon may work better. The Intel N95 is a 4 core/4 thread 12 gen CPU that benchmarks 4 times faster than the Celeron N3350 |

@ Martin H - not really for Breakaway. Normally, provided Breakaway can SEE the sound device natively as Windoze does, CPU usage with full processing enabled, only increases CPU usage by about 5% on a dual-core Intel Atom 1.4GHz board I was running the radio station on before. This is all setup and tested as part of the install and config of Breakaway, but if Breakaway CAN'T see the native sound device as part of the setup - IE: You can't select it from the sound output devices during setup, then it is forced to route the audio processing via another non-conventional method, and that is what is gobbling up the CPU big time. I have a couple of spare low-power Intel NUC boxes, so I am just going to use one of those, as I have setup Breakaway on those before, so I know it works. Probably should have just done that in the first place, but I was interested in the $100 unit! Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
