Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

At first, I thought this was probably a link(or a link to another link) to the scammer chip selling thing that has risen up in light of the shortages, but this seems to be genuine. But they won't even let you see the attached photo without membership - Grrrrrr. I'll have to sign up and sign in, so I can see what he actually has on offer. I'd like to get my hands on some more MM+ chips in both the 64 and 100 pin versions. If anyone is a member of that forum, could they steal the photo and upload it here please? Hi Grogster, to be honest i had not considered the member aspect and not being able to see the images, i can assure you they will be genuine and I was just trying to be helpful knowing you struggle to get some chips but there are are many pic chips available, I have attached one screen image I took of 170 chips as one you may be interested in. I think to be fair if you want to pursue it you probably need to join. Mike Codenquilts |

@ MikeO - I was not being critical of YOU in any way. Sorry if it read like that - not intended. I was just Grrrr-ing at the fact you had to be a member to see the photo. @ Mick - good idea! Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

G'Day All. I know I'm old and a bit out of touch but I thought the 170F256 was still available at least in DIP form. I have 25. Mouser seems to think They have them. Sadly for Grogs. the 64 and 100 pin devices are like my thoughts. Peter |

They might be. The ones I use the most of are SSOP footprint, and they are the hard ones to find. I could totally understand why Microchip would prioritize on getting more stock of the DIL version first - easiest to work with, easiest to breadboard etc. Smoke makes things work.
