I just read Geoff's post about the PicoMiteWeb manual is coming along well. So when it is finished I have to start all over again.......... This is my own printed and handbound version for the: Picomite Picomite VGA Picomite windows. I bet I am the only one with a real printed and handbound manual And yes: I should clean up my desk............. Edited 2023-03-31 21:16 by LucV Luc's tech Blog |

Haha... Really cool, but I'm still waiting for a "definitive final" manual, so I can let it print for me. There are so many things which are again added or changed. But don't get me wrong, this is a good thing! But that is the reason I am still waiting Greetings Daniel |

You may wait forever, Daniel. :) I usually print them, but I've only ever had one bound and I probably won't do that again. I print them on A5, double sided and put them into 6-ring binders. Quite small & compact but perfectly readable and I can re-use the binders. Needless to say, they are usually out of date. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

That will be when the development stops... when it's dead? You may wait a long time! John |

I just print out and bind with "combs". If you know someone with a comb system, its quick and easy. The nice thing about these is that they lay-flat. |

Well, I guess when V50707 is released, that contains so many new things, it will become more stable (not so many new changes). But look at the changes in the "read.me" file with each new beta since V5.07.06. Since 50706 so much has happened. At least for the Picomite and VGA versions, and the WEB version did not even exist. The VGA mainly because memory and timing are so "tuned" that major changes will become more and more a real challenge, and the chance of breaking things is huge. I estimate the VGA version will turn into bugfix mode. The normal picomite is pretty much complete as I can see it. It was supposed to be a MM2 successor, and it is already so much more than that. The WEB version may be vivid for some time since people are just getting up to speed with it, and there may be lots of requests for minor or major changes for it. So I will print my manual once 50707 is released... And I may have it hard cover bound as well. This is such an achievement. Volhout. Edited 2023-04-01 01:04 by Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

Not quite the only one with a hand-bound manual - but, yes this is really soft-bound with a card cover. Well-worn as you can see. Made in a book-binding press with a glued spine. Like others commenting, I shall probably hard-bind a copy when we have a more settled version. When comments were requested about the PicoMite manual I asked that the page numbering was changed for right and left pages rather than always set to the right as at present. That would enable two-sided printing without the page number on the left page disappearing into the binding as at present. |

This will be in the next version of the manuals (released when the firmware is ready for release). Geoff Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |

That will be excellent and much appreciated. When reading a .PDF on a 4k screen I always view in two-page mode. Changing the footing numbers will make two-page screen reading more consistent as well as facilitating proper both sides printing. Thank you, I look forward to the update. Given the rapid advances and so many new features in the firmware, I do not envy you the task of putting it all together! |
