What was the most up to date firmware release for the MM1 series of chips? I have one here, running Version 4.0504 I know the 150's are basically not supported anymore/EOL, but I have a project(Sever Shutdown Timer) and it only needs very simple code and the earlier MM1 based on the 150 chip is fine, and I have a few of these spare, so a perfect chance to use them in this day of chip shortages. Thanks for any comments. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Do you mean the PIC32MX150F128B? I can't find it at all on Geoff's site. I can only find the PIC32MX170F256B. Unfortunately, on many pages Geoff doesn't explicitly state which CPU(s) is/are involved. I _think_ you may want "lite" from here John |

It is still on my website: The direct link is: https://geoffg.net/Downloads/Micromite/Micromite_Original.zip Geoff Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |

Aha! I used PIC32MX150F128B (i.e. included the B) and it's not found by a web search :( Some of that "AI" in ChatGPT is needed!! It really should NOT matter if the B is there or not (unless the word is quoted, but it wasn't). The phrase "standard Micromite" kept cropping up, too, without mentioning which chip(s) (other than pin count). John Edited 2023-03-17 19:05 by JohnS |

There are two versions of the firmware for the B and D versions of the chip. Which is why I did not specify the exact variant. But no matter. It is always hard searching for things like that - I have sometimes spent hours looking for something on the web that I saw just the day previously. Geoff Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |

Sorry I (& search) missed it, though! I know what you mean... on a good day it's still in search History :) John |

Thanks very much. The chips I have here are 150F128B. I should have looked on Geoff's site, but I figured that as it is essentially discontinued and EOL, it probably is not up on his site anymore - assumptions being the mother of all....... I would not use this older FW normally, but I need to build another server shutdown timer, and I still have about ten 150's I probably will never use, and the original project used the 150 chip, so... Makes sense to use them - and the PIC32 is a great chip. Good I/O & robust. I wish Microchip had improved it - more memory (& speed). Maybe added a 2nd core. John |

Well, the 170 added more memory, but yeah- I agree with you. I expect it was a case of fundamental economics vs demand. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
