Hi Glenn, I found here how to use two microwave ovens as welder. You need too many old microwave ovens for an axial alternator but for a welder, only two are enough (thinking to axial alternator from Ed - windstuffnow, reusing magnets from magnetron). It looks interesting Vasi but it also is a lot of work to end up with a rather ordinary welder. 70 amps max is only going to weld thin stuff (<2mm). A far simpler welder can be had by connecting two or three 12V car batteries in series, then connecting the negative end to the electrode and the positive end to the work. A length of thick fencing wire for the series connection could act as a current limit. This method is often used bt 4WD enthusiasts when they break something out in the bush. I got the URL somewhere for that idea, if you are interested. Klaus Klaus |

Hi Vasi Welding on outback in Australa has been done many year back far as 1970 and other intesting story is how to charge flat car batteries when no electric power around is grab some wood, dry grass and light a fire when fire settle down .lot of heat less flames and put the batteries near fire place untill batteries get hot and remove and place into motor veichle and fire the engine and way you go.
