good morning gang!

i recently acquired an lg top loader and removed the smart drive assembly.i've had a look over the forums, and found a little bit about these. has anyone got any suggestions for rewiring for a hydro turbine for 48v? i suspect, looking at the rotor a higher rpm than and f&P can be sustained safely.

cheers,
ben.

Hi bennyspoon (what a funny name ,where did you get that from ,LOL)

Anyhow, Yep, I have some LG stators and rotors , they certainly look stronger than F&P . the windings-- I'll have a look ,one of mine is wired for 48volts, I'm sure --someone else gifted it to me long time ago -chime in if you are the "gifter"..

The pressed steel housing ,solid shaft, big bearings and completly removal stator ring could be a real advantage. Not much work has been done on these, people have moved on a bit ,I feel from F&P, Etc ,gone over to axial flux turbines and the Exmork types...

Keep us informed of how you progress, not many hydro guys out there,me thinks..

Cheers

Bruce

No wonder F&P sued LG over the idea to get away from gear boxes in washers. I may have seen some stuff on Otherpower Fieldlines.
