One thing I have noticed about S/F movies is that they go on about exotic alien metals.
Now it occurred to me that with the periodic table of elements and knowledge of what to expect with the "missing" elements, there would be no surprises with any materials. The materials would have to be made from elements that we know about. There would not be one lot of elements for us here on earth and a different lot of elements on another planet.
When pieces of space rock hit the earth, there is no new element discovered within them.
So the one of the benefits of capturing an UFO (seems wrong there to use "an", feels like "a" would be used) would be a different way of doing something.

So, live long and prosper \V/ (can't do the finger thing)

Some UFOs may not be material "craft" at all - but manifestations of consciousness. If we assume that everything in the universe is a manifestation of consciousness - as most religions teach, then beings that are billions of years more "evolved" than us, will conceivably know how to manipulate consciousness to change matter - or slip in and out of dimensions. They will probably be able to manipulate our more primitive consciousness too. I believe the area of the brain responsible for this is the one Colin Wilson calls "Faculty X" - though as a species we have yet to tap into it.

It struck me that many of the more amorphous and "ethereal" kind of UFOs which morph between bells, oblate spheroids and flattened discs, etc., are all readily obtained via spherical harmonics; and this might be the visible result of the 'craft' retuning itself to different frequencies as it drops in and out of our dimension. I put up a page about this here:

http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/oaktree/harmonium/index.html

Just an idea. But I myself am more inclined to toward the notion of a Yin-Yang UFO as described by Timothy Good in his book 'Alien Update'.

Yasi`s UFO is for real. Check out the VIDEO lads. If you capture one send onto me, I`ll gain great benefits by such a UFO.

I am not denying that some UFOs are of the nuts and bolts kind. I once had a dream that the nature of the aether was thixotropic (I had spent the day making rabbit skin glue gesso). I am sure that anyone who has stirred a solution of cornflour is familiar with the phenomenon. When the cornflour is stirred slowly, little resistance is encountered on the spoon - but when stirred fast, the cornflour thickens via electrostatic forces and exerts an opposing force on the spoon.

Well, this reminded me of inertia - a phenomenon not fully understood or explained by classical physics. It's as if the distant stars exert an inertial force, and so account for mass and gravity. If, by a small input of energy, you could disengage this thixotropic charge in the aether, mass and gravity would disappear altogether. Which might account for some of the incredible maneuvers seen in UFOs (turning at right angles for example).

I suspect this has something to do with the free energy vacuum. The American mathematician R. Feynmann postulated that every cubic centimeter of vacuum contains enough energy to boil all the oceans of the earth. Arthur C. Clarke cottoned onto this and said that the vacuum inside an ordinary electric light bulb contains enough energy to destroy the entire galaxy. Interesting, as this implies that the light bulb also contains enough energy to create an entire galaxy.

For those who think this is all just a lot of fuss about nothing, the following paper by NASA might convince you otherwise:

NASA Breakthrough Propulsion Physics Workshop Proceedings
NASA/CP-199-20894

I got this paper off the web a year or so ago. And most of the ideas can be grasped without too much mathematical knowledge. The entire document comes in at over 80 MB so is too large to be uploaded here. But a list of the Invited Presentations from the index gives an idea of the contents:

Nicholas,
Please go back to vasi`s original post to this thread. Have a look at the video. I believe vasi` had his "tongue firmly in his cheek" and rightly so because the video shows the impressive capabilities of his "UFO" and why every backsheder would benefit by one. Please check the video out and imagine how your backshed would benefit by such.

Thank you for your reply. I cannot not imagine why anyone would wish to keep their tongue firmly in their cheek with regard to such an important area of study, which has profound implications for the future of mankind. Unless Edward Snowden is right, and mass surveillance is "setting fire to the internet".

Good day to you.

I last did any real programming on my powerful commodore 128. Then dabbled a little on the earlier window machines.

Very simple back then, it might be time to get back into it so I can make something like this.

Hi guys,

Remember that marvelous technology from captured UFOs? Now we are able to replicate it by ourselves.

Well that`s impressive, way to go rather than trying to capture a UFO. Have saved that file, certainly my backshed needs one. One wet season when outdoor projects have been put on the backburner, I will have to have a go. Another gonna-do.
