So we dug up this planet and destroyed it, so what gives us the right to do the same to another planet. I havent checked the link so perhaps im wrong Pete. Sometimes it just works |

Series of super volcanoes erupting on this planet and you wont see our dig holes or any evidence we were ever here. Tis in mans Nature Pete. But your right, we have no right. We come from the land downunder. Vic |

I would rather we stop digging up this planet and start on a lifeless one. We aren't going to wipe out species or displace populations by mining Mars. But at the end of the day, space travel is too expensive to warrant mining, and will be for a long long time. The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. In some ways i agree with you Glenn, as why crap in your own back yard when you can crap in someone elses, Which man is good at doing. On a different note... do you have proof of no life on Mars? As you often ask for proof of data to grey areas raised for discussion on this planet. Pete. Sometimes it just works |

Opel, the second hardest natural occuring mineral known to man, has been reproduced from minerals known to exist on the moon. Scientist have made perfectly transparent opel from moon regoluth (sp) taken from the moon during the Apollo series of flights. I would think other precious metals would be there as well and on Mars too. Mac46 I'm just a farmer |

Many thanks for that titbit Mac46. Amazing. What makes this more so is our current understanding all were built by fusion of initially H2 then progressively right through the atomic scale, undertaken by those big factories in the "sky", stars. They made it all but we can manipulate, transform and use for our own purposes. We are indeed a remarkable species, Those little 4 wheelers on Mars are demonstrating this clearly. Let us celebrate mans ingenuity. We come from the land downunder. Vic |
