Well its that time of years again. I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

This last year saw a lot of change in my life, became a owner builder and ended up with a new shed and old house on my vacant block of land. The experience has taught me enough to say I will never do it again, financially and mentally it knocked me around and I've had to fight off the tax department and black dog a few times. Still a lot of work to do before its finished, like painting, insulation, etc, but I'm living here now and starting to call it home. Give me another year and it should be a nice place to live.

The forum has been running well, lots of interesting posts, and a diverse range of members. I'm looking into new ways for members to share their stories too, you may have noticed Phill has started a couple of Blogs that I've embedded into the site, http://www.thebackshed.com/Windmill/blog.asp. It's a trial, and I'll be looking for other blog feeds from members in the future. I've been happy with the web site hosting too, very little down time, so thanks to Quadra Hosting for keeping everything up and running. http://www.quadrahosting.com.au/

So thats it from me. Ho ho ho...

Well its said establishing a new home is like child birth, and why would you do that more than once, but it happens, and said to be easier the second time.

I have enjoyed watching the fruits of your labour, for a life long passion come together for you, it may have been a taxing time for the last 2 years, but it's all now in front of you to reap the benefits.

You will be the envy of many in time to come, with not being reliant on grid services.
Everyone dreams of this, but you filled the dream so look forward to the rewards and not the road you took to get there.

Christmas wishes to Glenn and all members

Pete.

Hi Glenn and everyone else on the forum,

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to you all.
Glenn - I've really enjoyed the interaction with everyone and thank you for the continued effort you put into it. Without you there'd be no BackShed.com and we'd all be the poorer for it.

Bit late for Christmas, unless for Christmas 2013 and beyond.

But definitely Happy New Year 2013 to all, especially Glenn, owner of this great Web Page !

Yes it's been a great year. If it wasn't for this forum I'd be struggling. Every time I ask a question I get a pretty fast answer and an answer that I learn from.
Every day's a school day.
Lets hope it keeps going.
Regards to all

I've only been on TBS for a couple of weeks and already starting to feel like part of a very big family. Thank you for welcoming me. I have been too long lost in the wilderness paddling my own canoe.

May our 2013 year be a beauty.

Happy new year to all of you.

Well at least you had a paddle im still trying to find mine.

Its a time of year we all look forward to the coming year, but its also a time of year we all need to look back over the great mates we have made here, and remember those that are no longer active on the forum, and more importantly those who have passed, there will come a time we all log out for good, so while enjoying that quite new years eve drink take a moment to remember those we have lost.

For the rest of you sorry bunch that are still here, have a great new year.

Pete.
