Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Or, cheap kits made by CNC owners. How reliable can be such a kit?
Anyway, will be nice to have some proposals about design, materials, etc., from CNC experts around here. Not something professional, but workable and reasonable as precision (well, I guess that can come mainly from "sliders").
The construction must avoid complications in assembling the kit.
It must be a maximum of A4 working area (or A3?).

I've seen a few designs based on timber frames, and they seam to work OK.

I think timber is a good material, its rigid when layered up and glued, cheap, and also easy to work with. If a timber part breaks its easy to replace or repair.

But it would only be suitable for routing wood, HDPE or other soft materials. Give steel a miss, and even aluminium would be asking too much.

What do you want to do with the CNC Vasi?

Hi Glenn,

Exactly what you said, wood, HDPE, soft materials (for "hand made" things, local art, etc.), but also PCB's of medium complexity...
