While I was walking the dog down the beach yesterday, I found this washed up on the shore. The big battery selector switch caught my eye, so I dragged it home and pulled it apart. Its mostly copper, brass and bakelite, so survived floating in the ocean. A few steel washers and cir-clip had disintegrated though. I washed the parts in fresh water, cleaned up the contacts with some sandpaper and put it back together with a little grease on the moving parts. Back in one piece. Its amazing what you can resurrect from the dead. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |
