Grogster I know just plain silly you should come up with an experiment that is testable provable repeatable by anyone to show the curve of the Earth so that these flat earthers will shut up this should be pretty simple to do the test would have to be something that the average person could do like maybe go out on a large lake and take one of these newfangled superzoom cameras send your buddy go out on a boat and film him going over the Curve some of those new cameras have infrared and they filter out a lot of the haze so one of them might even be better that simple then you can show the curve of the Earth right on video I'm sure others could come up with a better sample test that anyone could do that is testable provable and repeatable by anyone that should shut these morons up I don't think any evidence from NASA or any government would help these morons think that NASA really didn't go to the Moon and all governments lie so it would have to be evidence that anyone could do testable provable repeatable by anyone it's just as simple as that as soon as you can show the curve all these morons would have to shut up I think these flat-earthers think they've been lied to so much there not willing to believe anything unless it's testable provable repeatable by everyone not just a few really smart people the government for NASA Well anyway that's my guess about the subject. Been given a deadline of a few more years to live really affords me a viewpoint that has simplified the way I think. When I was younger, dresses were a big deal. My dad would spend weeks of pay to get me the latest in fashion dresses for plays. When I was hospitalized 8 years ago, the doctor gave me 8 more years to live. New medication has extended that but I am running on borrowed time. Borrowed time. My brothers and dad, then society pay for my medication and hospital visits. This has made me realize this: I must do what I can while working with everyone else in harmony. Fighting against someone or something cuts into my borrowed time. Instead I must repay the debt I owe to society, brothers and dad in any way I can. If someone or something believes in flat earth, let them. What else can they do? Can they bake cakes? Can they petition society to decrease the price of the injections I have to take? In that case, instead of fighting their beliefs, let me work with those ones that align with mine. I sure don't have time to be angry or frustrated. |

LadyN - I was not going to waste any of MY time trying to convince them otherwise, but I just found the the video stunning. What with all the science and technology we now have, that some people still believe this. I don't like to encourage ignorance, and when you see things like this - that are easily debunked using standard high-school science and physics, it irritates the scientist in me. Yeah its hard to believe in a modern era we have growth in a belief the earth is flat. There are many reasons this happens. There is a distrust of science. If someone is raised to believe something, and then "science" tells them their core beliefs could be wrong, it creates a internal conflict and a distrust of science. There is a lack of science, and maths. While the education system could take some blame, many people just dont get science or maths. Its not their fault. Lets face it, gravity is a hard one to explain. There is also a distrust in institutions like NASA, and governments. And then we have my favorite, the "filter bubble". Google it. I have more than one facebook account. I use one for me and my friends, and one for provoking politicians with extreme views. I've noticed my "me" account is fed stories about solar power and dogs and farming and all the things I like. The other account is fed stories about evil lithium mining and evil refugees and hate, lots of hate. Both facebook accounts are stuck in filter bubbles, where facebook feed you stories they think interest you. Very soon you start to think everyone thinks like you do, when in fact most people dont. It irritates the person in you who assumes everyone must follow similar principles and line of thinking as yourself but not the scientist in you. The irritation stems from evolution of human identity: we want to hang around with people similar to us. That's the well proven herd mentality. Again, herd mentality. We find primitive instinctive comfort in herd mentality. Social sites know about it and capitalize on it. However, the greatest progress in mankind has stemmed from the most diverse mix of people. Too much similarity causes resonating echo chambers that risks tunnel vision. I was initially very upset when the people around me changed from my friends at dance studio to elderly people at hospitals. I questioned if that is the life I wanted to lead. How boring it all now had become and I had nothing to live for. It was misdirection by my brain that had been operating in one mode for a long time. The elderly have their own perspectives to bring. Different perspectives and value that I have come to appreciate with time. Physics is absolute. It does not care if I believe in gravity or not. It won't apply any less to a believer than what it would to a non-believer. If the number of non-believers in gravity exponentially increased tomorrow, we suddenly won't hurl into space. If you did not believe in gravity, the scientist in me would not care. The emotional person in me would be upset however, because there is one less person on the planet with who I could have solved problems to do with gravity. ... but then I think: if you had believed in gravity nonetheless, would you have solved problems to do with gravity anyways? An absolute belief in the roundness of earth is as damaging as an absolute belief in the flatness of earth: no one would stop and question whether the earth could actually be a spheroid that even changes shape over time. There are a lot of people who don't believe in evolution. There are also a lot of people do believe in evolution. Life goes on. Those who want to know the facts will know about them nonetheless. Those who don't care about the facts are not interested in knowing about them to begin with. Little can be gained in asking fish to be like a horse. Both the horse and fish will be frustrated. Both have value in this world in their own distinct ways although the horse racer wishes everything was a horse. |

Grogster let me start by saying I was born in the wrong generation all of my best friends have died I am 40 years old most of my friends were between 60 and 65 and lived a hard life and died too early I love to hear the stories of older people I could sit there and listen all day long I got humbled about 10 years ago I literally love everyone on this Earth whether it be round or flat when I was young I talk apart everything I had to know how everything worked got my butt busted so many times I literally took everything in the house apart I studied everything to figure out how it worked when I was 11 or 12 I designed a spaceship that could travel from planet to planet without having to use a lot of fuel trying to break the force of gravity so now the words I figured out a way to DefyGravity somewhat of course like most good moms do my mother saved all these plans and drawings gave them to my wife about a year ago so funny to look back on what age 11-12 year-old was thinking love science made Straight A's in science class won 1st place in a few science fairs thought I had a good understanding about all the planets and gravity then I hit 14 ran away to Texas never graduated high school mad at the world and my parents didn't see them again until I was Twenty-One I lived a very hard life up till about 10 maybe a little longer years ago had to work harder than anyone else because the lack of high school diploma made very good money better than most that did graduate and even with a little bit of college always lied on applications and said I did graduate I have a few accomplishments certified electrician certified heavy equipment operator and Universal certified HVAC of course I didn't graduate so if anybody ever looked into it my certifications wouldn't be any good I'm retired now so it doesn't matter but all this was said just to let you know my mom said I thought I really really had a good understanding of the world and everything in it and everything above it a while back I decided that I wanted to get back into Electronics because I love that so much when I was a kid started taking some courses online started noticing that thinks just was not right I did enough experimentation was the kid to know that things wasn't like these Fortress was trying to teach me that started me down the rabbit hole trust you me don't get started down the rabbit hole because the more you look 4 provable testable repeatable facts in this world the less you will find you will come to find that most everything that you take as as fact is nothing more than Theory will you will find more corruption greediness and lies then you thought was ever possible you will come to find that everyday facts that you know are true is nothing more than Theory made up top three scientists tell you the world is three different shapes you will find that top NASA official says we haven't been back to the Moon because we had the technology but we destroyed it and it would be too much of a process to get it back other top NASA scientist says it's impossible to get through radiation belts at this time and trying to figure out a way to get through them without frying somebody like they're inside of a microwave I mean this could go on and on you can find pictures of videos taken 4 hundreds of miles and everything's flat if the camera doesn't have a fish on lens you will find people doing infrared videos from all the way down close to the Gulf of Mexico all the way to the Appalachian Mountains and everything is flat as a pancake I mean these things are provable testable go get yourself a p900 camera and test it for yourself because if you use the scientific principle and that is testable provable repeatable by anyone you will find there's a lot more about this world that is a law then you truly know I can't prove that the world is flat so I can prove that it has no curve with this being said if you said out with an open mind and are honest with yourself and go off of testable provable repeatable by anyone you will see that I'm doing nothing but tell you the truth I'm not here to prove the world's flat don't even care for that debate I'm here to tell you that there's a lot of sheeple in this world that believe something because someone told him it was that away without applying the scientific process which is testable provable repeatable you can go down that rabbit hole for months at a time but if you're honest with yourself you will find that there is more lies out there than there is truth but instead of spreading hate I choose to spread love anyone's more than welcome to believe anyway they want to but if you really want to know for yourself use testable provable repeatable and don't trust in no man or woman I would love to know what shape it is so if you have any way that's testable provable repeatable by anyone not just million dollar machines or have to take somebody else's word for it please fill me and I would really appreciate it I'm not very smart I did not graduate high school but I mean this is something it's been taught for 500 years as being the truth and has been spread for 2,000 years there should be testable provable repeatable and we shouldn't be able to take a really good camera like a p900 and use it for red and see hundreds of miles if the Earth curved you would not be able to see that far so after the Earth's a lot bigger than what we've been told or it's a lot flatter than what we've been told and if anybody tells you it's an optical illusion then research the optical illusion and see if that's possible this is all I will say about this subject because I really appreciate the people on this form they are so nice and helpful and I just don't find people so nice and helpful in this world very often anymore and I would hate to mess that up by going on and on about a subject that is meaningless on this website but if anybody would like to private message me I will give them any honest information that I know they can check it out and make up your own minds like I said I don't know flat round just don't know love good health happiness and peace to all Let me say it again I like this site I really like all the people on this site are so nice and helpful and this probably ain't the right place to be talkin about this because it seems like people are very strongly opinionated when it comes to this but I'm going to tell both of you guys if you search a little bit both of what you guys said have been disproven buy provable testable repeatable methods warp speed go look up a video of a star on a p900 on YouTube Stars ain't what we think they are as soon as you see the video u will see that's a fact I got a buddy that has one of those cameras Stars are not actual physical things there's some kind of electricity check it out for yourself look it up before you tell me I'm wrong I started out like both of you guys thinking that it was absolutely silly in this day and age is someone would think that the world is flat but when you research it hard and try to find the curvature of the Earth and use the scientific principle testable repeatable provable by anybody you will soon find out the most we think we know is just Theory or a lie more on this later if you guys want to talk about it I will give you links to where it just proves anything you want to come up with trust me I've been doing this for a year trying to disprove be warned i am good parrot but Dumber than a box of rocks |

Ladies and gentlemen if we're going to have a discussion on this topic love to keep it respectful and nice I would like to apologize for my first statement on this post when I wrote that I wasn't going to let anybody know how I felt about the subject because of all the criticism that comes with it I am not sure exactly what this world is that we live on if we're going to discuss this and you already have your mind made up that it's one way then it's kind of hard to find the truth truth is testable provable and repeatable by anyone now a lot of you may be thinking exactly like I did this is a ridiculous topic this was settled a long time ago but that is not the truth around 500 years ago they started to actually teach Globe Earth and it was just a theory then and still is just a theory if you doubt this then look up the top three Sciences in the United States and you will find that all three of them thanks the Earth's shape is different from the other you might think what we've got all kinds of pictures of the Earth from space well you'd be wrong again all CGI no actual picture of Earth you might say at the beach I've watched the boats go over the Curve next time you're at the beach take a pair of binoculars with you and you'll see it didn't disappear over the Curve it's all about vanishing point and how your eye works well you might say well they tested this by looking down a well in two different locations that also works on the Flat Earth top scientist Neil Degrassi said it himself listen instead of me going through every single one of these if you have a question ask me I'll probably already studied it in detail every proof that I can find that the world is a globe has been disproven by the testable provable repeatable by anybody I know I keep on saying this but truth is testable provable repeatable by anyone that is the scientific definition of truth I would love to have help and the subject I would love to see any proof that anybody has that we live on a ball that follow the scientific truth if you want to go down the rabbit hole look up long-distance video across Lakes p900 on YouTube look up long distance video using infrared camera on YouTube and if you still think we live on a ball after watching these two videos let me know and I'll give you about a thousand other testable provable repeatable by anyone examples and if anyone tries to disprove Flat Earth then research the method they are saying makes the Earth not flat when you get into this deep you will find out that most everything you take as a fact is a lie when you're searching this subject if a certain agency lies to their teeth several times to you then their opinion is worth nothing the reason we haven't been back to the Moon is because we had that technology but we destroyed it and now it would be too big of a process to get back top NASA official exact statement look it up another NASA scientist says he's working on making shielding so if we ever do go above low earth orbit the radiation belts don't nuke you like you're in a microwave says that nothing alive could make it through these radiation belts I could go on and on all day. I cant believe we are even discussing this! The earth is a sphere. There is no biblical dome covering a flat earth. If you want to argue against these facts, please find another forum to do so. On this forum I've strongly discouraged discussion on religion, politics and climate change. I'm astonished I now have to include flat earth theories in that list.
