Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Ok, just spent 1/2 hour typing up a post . Then I tried to attach a pic. ..

Ok, I'm not the smartest bloke on the block ,, but I've put up with this several times and you guys are the loosers, sorry.

Why can't , or how do I recover what I've written .. surely ,because I've stuffed up on the pic size or whatever , my 1/2 hour of pre-amble should be saved????.

I'm 69 , so be kind ..

Hi Bruce,
Several times on forums I have a long post only to lose the lot and I read read somewhere when doing a long post highlight the lot then paste it into notepad, that way if if the forum does stuff up 1/2 an hour of writing isn't lost.

Now what you could do is insert the pic's first then edit and place your text above below or in between .

It aint rocket science and I'm sure a heap of us have written a 1/2 long post only to lose it and some grey hair aswell......

Chinup mate with this new job I started I'm old enough to be every other workers old man and one day in the machineshop soon showed us babyboomers can still mix it and show youngsters how it's supposed to be done....

Hi Bruce

I back what Bryan said, but I use word instead. The problem you are having is not restricted to forums however, there are a lot of maintenance, banking and other web sites out there that time out if no activity is detected.

Yep been there myself, both here and on other forums. I've written long posts, only to loose it because I pressed a wrong combination of keys, the internet dropped out for half a sec, etc, and I'm so annoyed I give up and walk away. Its not the forums fault, its just the nature of the internet.

Like said above, for long posts its better to write it up in Notepad or Word or whatever, and then past it into the forum, add your pics, etc. That way if it goes pear shaped, your not loosing much. And remember, the longer you spend typing a post directly into the forum, the more likely it's going to crash on you.

Thanks Guys, I'll be better prepared next time ,,, Bryans thought of attaching the pic first is good, because most times I have to re-size them ,and this is where the problem arises..

mark, i was answering your question ,and attaching a pic ,so maybe today , you'll get a reply .

Klaus, I'll answer your question today also.-the humming ,yep, there is a slight hum coming from the choke, very little at ,say, 100watts, then next to none as we go higher.. experiments with postcard thickness cardboard or epoxy in between the ferrite cores can alter the noise also.
