Clorein gas :
I have been doing some reading on gas's produced by the batteries during discharge/charge cycles.
Accidently mixing salt water with the battery acid is a no no, one good wiff and you are dead. Also hydrogen gas is nearly undetectable by the human nose until it reaches above 3% by volume. Just thought I would put this out there.

Interesting fact Mac, probably not a health concern.

This is the way chlorine gas is manufactured BUT the other half of the reaction produces sodium hydroxide (NaOH). If the two compounds are in the same container they will quickly recombine, there needs to be a membrane to stop this. The NaOH also needs to be continually removed for the reaction to continue. The salt water chlorinator in a swimming pool is roughly the same thing.

A far better way to ruin your lungs is to try the housewife trick. You tip a whole lot of Sodium Hypochlorite down the sink, this is a bleach, I think it is sold as Clorox in the US. It will cause a reaction with the crap in the pipe and block it. How do you clean a blocked drain?

Acid drain cleaner ... .. ... .... the chlorine gas (and chlorine dioxide)will billow out the pipe and lay in the tub. You will probably cough and spew and your body will be unhealthy for the next few months while the old lungs heal up.
Here's some other things on the "not as dangerous as it sounds list"
The reason you cry when you peel onions is the airborne sulphates react with the water in your eyes and form sulphuric acid.

Cyanide bonds with cobalamin ....vitamin B12, when it is filtered with activated charcoal, your body strips the vitamin away from the cyanide leaving it free to do its thing. BUT the recommended dose is 3 micrograms, 1 gram will last you 1000 years (provided you keep it fresh). pretty unlikely to reach any toxic levels despite the recent hype.

If you want to elevate your cyanide levels in your body, eat a handful of almonds and smoke a pack of cigarettes.

And lastly the explosive nitroglycerine, it is POSSIBLE to manufacture it while making biodiesel and soap.

I cant find the quote but it was something like this.
Budding journalist, " Why aren't you taking the terrorist threat of home made nitroglycerine seriously?"

spokesman, " No terrorist stupid enough to try it ever survives, so there is no threat".

I'm confused, no wait... maybe I'm not...
