Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Downwind said   I have a F&P set up on a frame with a electric motor driving it that i can adjust the speed on, i use it for testing out various things.

Lately i have been using it for testing of data loggers and from what my logging shows the core starts to saturate at about 500 RPM and you get only a little more as you increase to 750 RPM.

To me the extra bit is not worth the extra rpm flogging stuff out for close to nothing gain in power.

Yes, I have read in various places that 500 RPM is about it.
Cheers,
Phill.

I'm suggesting you'll get 1KW for the both, not each unfortunately.
Agreed they will be saturated but the output does go up a little, I've seen it on the mill (caps play a part perhaps)

could run the lister slower perhaps thus flogging it less and the f&p at 600.

there is nothing flying apart at those revs, will do it all day every day and do so on the pelton turbines.
Luck favours the well prepared
