Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

My old faithful has failed, now it has had numerous capacitors in it's life but this time the trouble goes deeper. Brush less generator Voltage comes up but fails on load, I assume the two blue discs on the rotor are diodes. I cant quite make out numbers in situ but of what I think I can read is s20k below that 420???. Any advice before i take to it with a soldering iron.

I'm not familiar with that particular model, but the one here I think it has 1 diode, it also failed, replaced that diode and it has being running ever since, well occasionally it dose not excite, just drop the revs to idle then let it go again.
I think the diode were high speed?
