Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Originally our install was meant to have been SMA ..
( I was going to run a 6 min script to log all the data to go with our weather stations data )
but after waiting a few months for the REC's to gain value again the installer offered us Solaredge for the same price

by this point we just wanted the panels installed and after being shown and told we could still have data logging ok'd it

then to find out only the installers have access to the data that the utube video above shows I blew my fuse big time

Hi,

I'm sorry but I can't grant you this kind of access.
Only registered installers may have this features and allowed to grant access to home owners .
Please, contact your installer.

Have a nice day,
Avi

the on-line web monitor for end users pretty much only shows you what the inverter displays any how ...

in the dash board
daily / monthly / yearly input are shown ( nothing hrly at all )
show's money saved ( another gripe end user has no way to set the amount being paid back at the time )

in the layout
you can see some voltage / wattage settings of the individual panels but unable to save any of the data , no graphing charting functions

which is part of my main gripe , the system only sends the data to their web server , no other way to get the data off it

their is the other option to use the rs232 port .. but for that you need to know the installers password !!

Hi,

We glad that you choose solaredge’s system.
Unfortunately if you wish to use monitoring portal it available only via internet, we don’t have another tool to grab data from inverter accept solaredge configuration tool.

also for some reasons .. every few days the web portal seems to lose all its data .. and we are back to 0 ( this is now the second time it has gotten around to 50 ~ 90 kw and gone back to 0 in 1 week )

the inverters daily logging seems to be from the middle of the day
as it does not seem to start from morning till night but from midday to the next midday

any how for those few out their that actually want to know what the system is doing ...
( email them before purchase / install and request that the installer give you escalated privledges apparently only installers are granted access because you can access anyone else's inverter ... apparently now they are looking into another way to grant users who want to see it all still have access so I don't go flaming away on every forum out their :P )

how ever the system seems ok ... but I still think I am losing 10% more power with this system then I would have with another inverter ( only getting 70% of the power during peak conditions west facing as the installer never put them on tilted brackets or did anything to face them north ... )

the slightest cloud shade seems to make it completely stop producing power I have seen it make more power in the early morning when the sun is barely out then when the light dims just the slightest

how ever with out data logs to compare with my weather stations data I have no way of knowing .. get the hint SE I want my logs :P
