Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Forum Index : Solar : nah, I will do it my way thanks..

https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/article/2024/may/25/solar-batteries-australia-renewable-energy-costs-tips

well, it was a bit premature save the post but here goes..

I will blow $5K or more just to give a big middle finger to the generator
and retail distributors of our so called "electricity market"

no.
I will make my own energy (solar panels)
I will charge my own batteries with my own charge controllers (designed and built by myself and I can repair them IF they blow and they have not yet after 8 MW.hr of production)
I will make my own inverter, and be able to repair it should it blow. And, guess what boys and girls, it has no blown up since I built it 4 years ago.
I want it be a clear and unmissable message to the energy multinationals that
I DO NOT NEED YOU.
In fact, it's more a case of them needing us.

It is a revolution.
Be part of it.

Yes, build what you can at home, much more satisfying when it all just works.

It might surprise some people how much DIY supports so many small business, so many parts purchased from many places.
