Hi All, Got to briefly test my new string of 12 x 255W panels yesterday before hitting the road. They peaked out at just over 2000W. I'm assuming that's about right for this time of year considering my weather station gives the 10:00am theoretical Max as about 575W/m² for the day. They are 29.8°S, Facing North East, 53.25°, On a pitched roof that's 34.5°. Output @ 10:00AM was 2000W or 65% of rated capacity. The angle which the sun was striking them at that time was 2° off perpendicular in the vertical plane & 19° in the horizontal plane. It was mentioned I should get more, but the facts above don't add up to that, particularly the irradiance reading. All seem good and as to be expected? Phil. |

Panels are rated at optimal conditions including that they are at 25 degrees, my panels are never near that temperature in full sun. If you can get the full specs of your panels you will be able to get a better indication of what you should expect. I get similar results from an array of 12 250W poly panels. These are the panel in question. These are the actuals, so average panel voltage was 24.33V & current 6.85A. I live in the real world, and don't expect the true test spec values, so presume all is Ok. Phil. |

Gotta just love those days when Google doesn't give you a hard time..... Easy find... 255W panels. Phil. |

I am at 33 deg south and this is my solar insolence with a vertical sensor. that tallies with your amps quite closely, looking at the graph in the data sheet I think you are probably 3.58 volt per panel down on your voltage theoretical max. Some of that might be mppt losses, the rest could be a combination of things. I'm confused, no wait... maybe I'm not... |

Thats the output here for today (SE Qld-scattered clouds) for 2x 3.2kw strings facing east/ west. It's noticeably down since xmas, where it was hitting the inverter peak around 9am, now its struggling to hit it at all although I am pleased its still hitting a kw at 7am. Solar HWS is also noticeably down, had to boost twice in the last fortnight, went for months without boosting at xmas |

Here is mine with 2 X 3.5KW, these panels are laying flat, there is also shade until after 8AM. There may have been a little throttling around midday with my GTI regulator. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

this would be my guesstimate of what the maximum possible peak would be for this time of year. I'm confused, no wait... maybe I'm not... |

Not getting anything quite as impressive as above; probably a lot to do with the fact that one string faces SW; the best option I have for it. Don't go much on my monitoring software, very buggy & supposedly identical installs behave completely different in terms of the data layout they display. An alternative would be nice. Phil. |

2.5KW from 3KW of PV is not bad. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

No, I've got 3 strings. 3kW facing NE, 2.75kW facing SW, & 1.5kW on the skillion area, they are NNE and at about 25°. Tried lifting them, but that made shadowing worse at around 3:00 in winter. They are in two rows as space requires & the skillion falls in the SE direction at about 11°. Yesterday I had the 1.5kW to the PV2 input up till around 2:00PM, then swapped it over to the SW 2.75kW string which produced better from there on. Phil. |

Love the name plate. "Hazardous Electricity Can shock, bum, or cause death" Sorry...small things |

LOL, I missed that, a bum may be quite shocking. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

Dunno, If Hazard had been spelt with two "Z"s, & I'd picked it up I'd be thinking back to the days of "The Duke's of Hazzard" & Daisy Duke's shorts.... |

I am sure I would be banned if I spoke more about Daisy's shorts. A bum "may" be quite shocking! There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |
