Hi all,
I have a few questions about solar pv panel,iam new to this
so please be patient with me.(1)Is it ok to start with two 10watt
12volt pv panel?.(2)Is there any truth in saying that these small
panel don't produce what they are rated at?.In other words i read
some where,where they said that these size panel cannot charge a
12volt battery.My reason for these question is iam been offered
some of these panel.So iam seeking guidance from those who have
been there and done that.

Hi petruzzi

I have several of these small commercial panels and under ideal conditions they will produce their rated power, however they are really only useful as battery toppers ti float batteries as when battery losses are taken into account they produce little excess power for practical use. If you can get a lot of them cheap they may be useful to play with but I doubt you would make a useful array with them. A yield in a fixed position in full sunlight would yield 40 to 50 watts per day.
